Carnival of Small Business Issues

Carnival for Small Business Issues (CoSBI) is changing its format?

“Change is the only constant!” and CoSBI is changing the way we deliver all the insights we share with each other. Henceforth, it will either be a bi-monthly or a monthly issue (I am yet to decide on it.)

The focus is going to be on quality and insights - and that will mean fewer posts in each edition. Contrary to popular marketing sense, I may even re-brand it.

Watch this space for more details …

Why a Carnival for Small Business Issues (CoSBI)?

How many small & medium businesses are there in comparison with large businesses? And how many of them succeed? Answer this and you know why a carnival for small business issues.

Small businesses operate under a lot of constraints. While finance and human resource are the main ones, there are others that bog a small business owner down. They could range from operational issues to marketing ones to leadership.

Theory and academia are all nice and dandy, but they assume away the constraints small businesses face. As anyone who has worked in a small business environment can attest, it is akin to a railroad construction - the catch here is the train is bearing down upon you as you lay the tracks.

It does not have to be that way, you know.Let’s face it. We are not born with business knowledge. We need to learn those skills. Would you not agree that sharing information and knowledge helps everyone? So share and discover what makes your small business tick.

Greetings from PEI. I’ve just started out and am learning as I go (am a single mom, work from home and am only looking to work part-time). Would you possibly have a moment to look at my blog to see if I’m considered a spammer. I’d love your feedback… I’m enthralled by your blog and the concept, very well done. I’m passionate about small business and love talking with entrepreneurs. I found your blog by googl-ing atlantic canada blogs. Great information. Best of luck and success in 2008.
